The Shirley Boyde Trust was founded on 19 September 1989 in Memory of Shirley Anne Boyde.

It exists "to provide and establish charitable funds and grants to support research into medicine and in areas of biology relating to conservation of wild life and the environment in Hong Kong and elsewhere and to promote, support and encourage all or any measures designed to carry out such research and for the promotion of charitable and educational institutions and education generally".

The Shirley Boyde Trust has wound up its charitable fund by making a one-off donation to the Hong Kong University Foundation to fund research in hybrid aptimers.

Donations to the Shirley Boyde Trust are no longer being accepted.
